Search Resources.
Plain Search Syntax
- A result returns if any of the search words is present.
- For example, ‘The Fat Rats’ will return results based on ‘fat’ AND ‘rat’, meaning results that include both fat and rat.
- quotations are ignored (so no phrase searches), as are boolean operators (like 'and'/'or')
For more control, use Boolean search.
Boolean Search Syntax
You can use logical operators (AND and OR) to narrow the results returned.
- 'Fat OR rat' returns results that include either fat or rat, or both.
- 'Fat AND rat' returns results that include both fat and rat.
Also accommodates phrase search, by 'quoting the search querey'.
- 'The big rat is fat' returns results that includ the search words sequentially in the record. That is, results where the word 'rat' comes after 'big' and is followed by 'fat'.
